Serving with a Whole Heart

I’ve been studying Psalm 119 lately, and it often talks about serving Jesus with a whole heart. This has made me think about serving OTHERS with a whole heart.

This is such an important thing as Christians. Love is such a big part of who we are, and when people see us loving others, they certainly notice a difference in us. And when we love, we must do so with a whole heart. For if we love someone half-heartedly, what good is that?

Here are some verses about love:

1 Corinthians 13:13 ~ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-9 ~ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Love is one of the most important things we can cultivate in our lives. I want to encourage you to love on others whenever you get the chance. Even if it means making a bit of a sacrifice, it is so worth it to bless someone. Whether it’s a big act of love or a small one, love matters. Love is patient, kind, not envying, not boasting, not proud, not dishonoring, not delighting in evil, rejoicing in truth, protecting, trusting, hopeful, persevering, never failing. All these things we can cultivate.

I want to let you know how a simple act of love can go such a big way. Simply holding the door for someone can make their day. Big acts are amazing too. Please know that even if you have to give a lot of your time, effort, and energy into love it is more than worth it. Jesus loved each and every day He lived on this earth and we are called to live as He did!

Please don’t give half of your heart to love and serving. It is so important, my awesome readers. Look for opportunities in your community to serve. Give cookies to your neighbor. Give a hug to a friend who’s down. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to see who needs love and love all. Serve your neighbor. Give the Lord and others your all and give your whole heart to others in love. :))

Thank you for reading! Much love and blessings,

  • Caitlyn
