We all know that it can be super hard to be patient, especially with certain people in our lives who can get on our nerves.
There’s another thing that we struggle with in terms of patience, and that is trials. Sometimes it’s hard to trust God when we don’t see the purpose behind what is happening.
First off, I want to talk about being patient with others.
Trust me ya’ll, I know what it’s like to have people who you don’t want to love or be patient with. But God has called us to love everyone and to be patient.
Ephesians 4:2 explores this thought and it says: Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
We all sin and have our rough areas. Therefore, we must see others in this life. God has chosen to love you at your darkest, and as we learn to do so with others, we can have patience with them and bear with them in love.
It may be easy for me to write this but not apply this. I want to encourage you that if there is someone in your life who tests your patience, to faithfully pray for them. Ask God to open your eyes so that you may see them through His loving, humble, gentle, and patient eyes. Lift them up in prayer and pray that God would meet them where they are and don’t complain about this person in your life. Praise God that you have the opportunity to be a good example to this person!
The next time someone does test your patience remember Ephesians 4:2 and also the fact that God shows you patience every day as you stumble in your ways.
Now I’d like to explore what it means to be patient in trials. Romans 12:12, one of my favorite verses :), says this: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
I know that trials don’t make sense at the time. For we see a puzzle piece but God sees the puzzle. As you face trials and just don’t know how to be patient and trust God through it, keep praying. Keep choosing to rejoice. Keep being patient. For that is what matters so so much! Choosing joy in struggle is so freeing and so beautiful!
Ask the Lord to help you in patience, for we cannot do it on our own. Ask Him to help you love others and show patience to them even when they try yours. Ask Him to help you see trials through His eyes and know that He is good through all of it.
Much love ya’ll!
