The Importance of Loving Others

Reaching out and showing love is what we are all called to do as Christians and servants of God. However, we oftentimes miss the opportunities that are right in front of us.

The girl that sits alone at lunch.

The moody person checking you out at your local grocery store.

The old lady that looks downcast that passes you at the store.

That co-worker who always seems out of it.

These are just a few people that any of us could come in contact with and show love to. The question is, do we?

I think it’s really mind blowing and amazing how, if we choose to simply reach out and talk to someone, smile, and show some love, that can have an immense impact on their lives.

Sure, we might not ever see it, but LOVE CHANGES THINGS.

Imagine if you chose to reach out to that girl who sits alone at lunch. She might realize that someone actually cares enough to  be her friend and realize that life is indeed worth living.

Imagine if you chose to reach out to that moody person checking you out. If you asked how they were and shared that you were doing good today because of the grace of the Father. That could add some sunshine to their day and help them to joyfully push through the last couple hours at work.

Imagine if you smiled and said hi to the sad old lady. She would see that joy, and maybe it would uplift her soul and bring her joy as well.

And imagine if you took time to ask your co-worker how they are and tell them God is with them. This could encourage them to keep going and know that God loves them.

Your life has impact. The words you say each day, the actions you take, and the way you spend your time matters. There are so many hurting people, and I’m not saying you can totally change their life by choosing to love them. What I am saying is that we all need to take more time to look up and reach out.

God can use our acts of love in amazing ways, if we will step out. How often do we miss the opportunities that God places in our path? How often do we stay in our own bubble, hiding away the love of Yahweh in our hearts?

Will you choose to move outside of your comfort zone and show love to others today? Your life has so much purpose, and the lives of other’s do too. By Jesus working through you, amazing things can happen. REACH OUT AND BE INTENTIONAL TO SHINE GOD’S LOVE. //

1 John 4:7-8 // Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God, and knows God. He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love.

1 John 3:16 // By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

1 John 3:18 // My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.

Galatians 5:13-14 // For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Romans 12:9 // Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.
