The 2 Most Powerful & Effective Ways to Spread the Light

You’re probably no stranger to the fact that as believers, we’re called to be the salt and light of the earth.

But are you actually being salt and light?

I’m not here to talk about the importance of living our lives for Jesus. You already know all about that.

Today, I’m going to outline the two most powerful and effective ways to actually spread the Light of the World.

Because we don’t want to just talk about doing it. We want to do it!

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

(Luke 6:45)

You can always tell what’s in a person by hearing what comes out of them when they’re squeezed.

Words are powerful. They’re an indicator of what’s in your heart. They hold the power of life and death. (Proverbs 18:21)

To spread the Light, He has to be real to us. He has to be so ingrained in our hearts, we can’t help but talk about Him.

Don’t censor yourself or your speech for the things of God. I once yelped out “Hallelujah!” to a friend when I was happy. I had no idea if she was saved or not, but that’s when she found out I was!

What you do want to leave out is anything the world might say. Don’t cuss. Don’t make perverted jokes. Cleanse your heart and mind with the Word of God and replace any negativity or crude speech with what God has to say.

When you start talking like a child of God, people listen.

When you start talking like a child of God,

Let it be natural to you in your everyday speech. Don’t hold back because you fear the person you’re talking to isn’t a Christian. Let them know what you’re about and Whom you serve.

But don’t just listen to God’s Word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

(James 1:22)

What speaks louder than words? Actions!

Don’t just talk the talk of being a Christian. Are we hypocrites or do we really act on what we believe? Walk the walk, too.

Act on what the Word of God says. If it says not to be dejected and sad for the joy of the Lord is your strength, don’t profess having the Son of God in your heart and then act all depressed. When Jesus becomes real to you, you can’t stay sad!

Do what you know is right even when the peer pressure is unbelievable. Caitlyn talks all about that here.

What you stand for will stand for you. You take a stand for holiness and don’t watch stuff God sent His Son to redeem us from? That will stand for you. You’ll be a stable person living in righteousness while your friends end up living crazy lives.

What you stand for will stand for you. (1)

You stand for trusting in God’s creation even when your entire class believes in the theory of evolution and bombards you with “facts”? That will stand for you. You’ll believe the truth of God’s Word while others will believe anything anybody tells them.

People will see how serious you are about this whole living-for-God thing. Against all odds, you did what you believed.

That makes a stand. That spreads the Light.

Spreading the Light needs to be driven by love and be real to us before He’s real to the people we share Him with.

Make God #1 in your life. Pray and ask Him for a passion to love Him deeper and live a more radical life for Him.

Today, there’s no reason to hesitate to spread His love. There’s no time to.

Start spreading the Light and being the salt and light of the earth with your words and your actions.

That’s something you can do right away, right now.
