12 Ways Your Phone is Changing You by Tony Reinke

Summary from Amazon: “Do You Control Your Phone—Or Does Your Phone Control You?

Within a few years of its unveiling, the smartphone had become part of us, fully integrated into the daily patterns of our lives. Never offline, always within reach, we now wield in our hands a magic wand of technological power we have only begun to grasp. But it raises new enigmas, too. Never more connected, we seem to be growing more distant. Never more efficient, we have never been more distracted.

Drawing from the insights of numerous thinkers, published studies, and his own research, writer Tony Reinke identifies twelve potent ways our smartphones have changed us—for good and bad. Reinke calls us to cultivate wise thinking and healthy habits in the digital age, encouraging us to maximize the many blessings, to avoid the various pitfalls, and to wisely wield the most powerful gadget of human connection ever unleashed.”

THIS. BOOK. IS. AMAAAZING!! Tony writes in such a harsh and convicting way that will make you look inside your heart and feel challenged. However, he does it in a genuinely loving way with Truths from God’s Word.

This book presents 12 chapters that have 12 ways your phone is changing you, even in ways you might not realize! It truly challenged my outlook and changed my life and I recommend it as much as possible!

In this insightful and encouraging book, sisters Kristen Clark and Bethany Baird help single women of all ages discover a radically better approach to navigating their love lives. Covering topics such as true love, romance, purposeful relationships, purity, boundaries, singleness, and glorifying God in every stage of our relationships, Love Defined unpacks God’s original design for romance, showing modern women how to experience God’s best for them in their relationships. Full of biblical truths and step-by-step application of concepts discussed, the book also includes a chapter-by-chapter study guide to be used individually or in small groups, as well as four letters from godly women who have been married for 30, 40, and 50+ years, offering priceless, hard-won advice to single women.”

I was super blessed to be on the launch team for this amazing book! This book is more of for single girls/young ladies than it is for guys or married women. 😉

This book gave me such an amazing outlook on love, romance, and all things surrounding it! It’s so thorough and packed full of God’s Truth! It opened my eyes to new Truths, and reminded me of Truths I already know, strengthening my convictions.

Porch Swing Girl by Taylor Bennett

Summary from Amazon: “What if friendship cost you everything? Stranded in Hawaii after the death of her mother, sixteen-year-old Olive Galloway is desperate to escape. She has to get back to Boston before her dad loses all common sense and sells the family house. But plane tickets cost money—something Olive gravely lacks. With the help of Brander, the fussy youth group worship leader, and Jazz, a mysterious girl with a passion for all things Hawaiian, Olive lands a summer job at the Shave Ice Shack and launches a scheme to buy a plane ticket home before the end of the summer. But when Jazz reveals a painful secret, Olive’s plans are challenged. Jazz needs money. A lot of it. Olive and Brander are determined to help their friend but, when their fundraising efforts are thwarted, Olive is caught in the middle. To help Jazz means giving up her ticket home. And time is running out.”

This book is so fun and amazing! There’s hardship, Biblical Truths that will encourage you, some romance, and friendship! I enjoyed reading this book about a girl who goes through a terribly tough time, yet comes out trusting in Jesus and having friends who have encouraged and helped her through it.
